Awareness Society

Northern Bear Awareness Society, and volunteers through the Fruit Exchange Program, have worked with Northern Lights Estate Winery (NLEW) to produce wine from tonnes of otherwise-unwanted apples from local trees that previously attracted bears. By providing a drop-off location for excess fresh apples, NLEW has greatly helped Prince George residents who are making the effort to responsibly manage their bear attractants.  NLEW took this even further, and generously makes a monetary contribution to the Northern Bear Awareness Society for these apples, making them the primary sponsor of our educational outreach programs since 2016.
